Raise your hand if you’ve heard of Dave Ramsey. And no, we’re not talking about the chef guy from the Food Network. Dave Ramsey is a fairly well-known radio and TV personality famous for his financial advice. While we can agree with much of Mr. Ramsey’s advice about responsible personal finance, his approach to credit cards is a bit extreme for us. His theory is that responsible credit card use does not exist, and there is NO positive side to credit card use*.
We respectfully disagree. While we agree that credit cards can create financial land mines if used irresponsibly, they can also provide a number of advantages when used with a good dose of common sense. Let’s take a look at some of those advantages:
